There is only one way to develop a Code of Ethics.

  • Understand what makes the group a group,
  • determine the shared values of all members of the group, and
  • make believable to the group that only consensus will make a Code of Ethics a viable statement.

Once a statement has been prepared it must be affirmed and confirmed by all members of the group.

Anything less than this will render any document passed off as a Code of Ethics will be given token acceptance at best or cynical derision at worst.
